Our Team: http://main.nationalmssociety.org/goto/missinglink Reason for the ride...We really could use your help. These rides are for supporting the National MS Society's efforts at providing funds for research and expanding awareness for those struggling with this debilitating disease. For many of us, this is a very personal cause. Sure the rides are fun. Sure it's good to get some fresh air and exercise - and even enjoy the heat. For me, this is not a luxury that I can take for granted. For me, a brief ride on a bike can be as challenging as a short walk to the mail box and back for someone with MS. For others with MS, the struggle may be with vision; with cognitive abilities; with depression; with... well the list goes on and on. It just hits people in different ways. Anyway, this is why we ride. If interested in being a part of this team for future events, please let us know.Sponsors...We would be lost without you, and without your encouragement and support. We have been humbled by the generosity that has been offered towards this cause. Your contributions underscore what these rides are all about. Truly we say THANKS.Earlier rides...
Rides of preparation...Philly is a great area for cycling. One of our rides of preparation included one that ran from center city up along the Schuylkill River to Valley Forge. There will be definitely more trips to Philly for cycling. There are many trails that run through the city and beyond that are worth the visit. If interested in tagging along for one of these rides, just let us know.Locally there are also many options. I have become a fan of the MapMyRide.com, which is a site for networking with riders, hikers, runners, etc. There are many rides mapped out on the site for our local area, and the site offers many helpful training tools beyond just its mapping features. (I can be found by searching user name "keewheel"). If you would want come along on a ride, just let me know. | ||||
